Next Game:  Saturday 20th March 2010  - Cumnock Juniors v Neilston Juniors in the Stagecoach West of Scotland Super League First Division -  kick-off 2pm.

Cumnock need to get all points in this game if they have to maintain a respectable distance between themselves and Rutherglen, who are not playing in the League this Saturday. The First Division has been tight right from the start and although Neilston are at the bottom of the League there are no easy matches, as Annbank found out when they lost four goals to one against Neilston on Saturday - and Annbank were at home.

Come along to Townhead Park on Saturday and see a good game of football, and of course support Cumnock Juniors.

Players:

Graeme Wilson - Graeme missed the game against Dalry due to injury but will be fit for the Neilston game.

Stevie Moore - Good to see Stevie on the bench at the Dalry game although he didn't play. He has had hamstrung problems since before Christmas but has worked hard to get fit again.

Stevie Agnew - No more injury problems with Stevie coming into the game during the second half.

Willie Galloway - Willie had an injury and that's why he came off in the Dalry game but will be fit for the Neilston game.

Townhead Park - There are no problems with the Park.

Referee - Jim Burns (Glasgow) with his Assistants James Tedford snr. and Paul O'Neil.

Match Sponsor - Thanks to the Morton Family for sponsoring the Neilston game. The Morton's (headed by Club Secretary George) have always been great supporters of the Club and it is good to see them sponsor the match. I am sure they will have an enjoyable day.

Thanks also to Alex Baird Double Glazing who sponsor this.

 ***********

Other Fixtures:

Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup. - Cumnock Juniors have a bye in the first round and a home tie against Kilwinning Rangers in the next. Buffs are playing very well and should be in the First Division next season so any team playing them will have a very difficult game on their hands. No dates have been decided yet.

***********

Stuart McDonald - Congratulations to Stuart who was asked to join the international pool on Sunday 27th February and played in the friendly against Rutherglen Glencairn the following night. Stuart played but the game was sadly abandoned at half time when Rutherglen defender Craig Palmer received a bad  injury.  The result at that time was 1 - 1 with Stephen McGladrigan scoring for Glencairn in 25 minutes and the Scottish team scorer was Bryan Dingwall of Pollok on 45 minutes.

At the Emirates Scottish Cup derby game between Rutherglen and Cambuslang on Saturday (6th March), Scottish Manager Keith Burgess left a Scottish jersey and full Scottish training kit for Craig. Craig is still in hospital after an operation to have a steel plate and screws inserted to strengthen his fractured and dislocated ankle.

Cumnock Juniors hope Craig will have a speedy recovery.

From the Committee -

George Pulman - Thanks to the family and friends of George who at the funeral, donations were passed on to Cumnock Juniors. That was a kind gesture.

Jock Clelland - Thanks also to the family who have donated Jock's 1949-50 Scottish Junior runners-up Cup winner's medal and Scottish Junior International Cap. Jock was a big, bustling striker who was a very popular player at Townhead Park and also respected in the wider community of Cumnock.

Thanks to Owen Scott for the information.

Celtic v Rangers Celebrity Football Match. - Glad to publicise the above match. Despite having no doubts about the game, as usually Rangers and Celtic games such as this one do a tremendous job for good caused, I wanted to know before I publicised it who were the organisers and where the money was going. Unfortunately I had trouble in getting the details. George Morton had the same trouble. I believe fifty per cent of the gate is going to the Jimmy Johnstone Trust and the rest is going to a Rangers Trust. I am sure everything is well above board but it is a pity those details weren't displayed.

Thanks to Alex Hodge for the poster.
